The transient was discovered on 8th September 2023 at 07:50:52 (MJD 60195.33) by ZTF as ZTF23abbpswf with a discovery magnitude of g = 19.81. It was subsequently classified as a SN Ib at z = 0.018.

Sherlock Contextual Classification

Prediction: Supernova

The transient is possibly associated with 19432494+4156280; a J=11.22 mag galaxy found in the 2MASS/LASR/PS1 catalogues. Its located 2.39" S, 22.96" W (8.3 Kpc) from the galaxy centre. A host z=0.018 implies a m - M = 34.42.
