The transient is possibly associated with SDSS J162317.77+293039.9; a J=13.75 mag galaxy found in the SDSS/2MASS/PS1 catalogues. Its located 8.80" N, 7.11" E (24.1 Kpc) from the galaxy centre. A host z=0.118 implies a m - M = 38.70.
