The transient was discovered on 13th May 2023 at 04:28:22 (MJD 60077.19) by ZTF as ZTF23aajqewm with a discovery magnitude of r = 20.41. It was subsequently classified as a SN Ia at z = 0.072.

Sherlock Contextual Classification

Prediction: Supernova

The transient is possibly associated with 2MASXJ10030747-0420055; a J=13.43 mag galaxy found in the NED/2MASS/PS1 catalogues. Its located 4.87" N, 4.99" E (9.6 Kpc) from the galaxy centre. A host z=0.072 implies a m - M = 37.56.
