The transient was discovered on 13th May 2023 at 06:10:04 (MJD 60077.26) by ZTF as ZTF23aajhmwm with a discovery magnitude of g = 19.80. It was subsequently classified as a SN Ia at z = 0.052.

Prediction: Supernova
The transient is possibly associated with SDSS J120600.1+432536.9; a J=12.62 mag galaxy found in the SDSS/2MASS catalogues. Its located 7.91" N, 2.73" W (8.4 Kpc) from the galaxy centre. A host z=0.052 implies a m - M = 36.80.
