The transient was discovered on 29th April 2023 at 09:04:19 (MJD 60063.38) by ZTF as ZTF23aaikcdx with a discovery magnitude of r = 19.45. It was subsequently classified as a SN Ia at z = 0.022.

Sherlock Contextual Classification

Prediction: Supernova

The transient is possibly associated with 14105832-2703547; a J=12.72 mag galaxy found in the 2MASS/LASR/PS1 catalogues. Its located 12.67" N, 0.25" E (5.3 Kpc) from the galaxy centre. A host z=0.022 implies a m - M = 34.86.
