Prediction: Supernova

The transient is possibly associated with SDSS J163821.78+420006.9; a J=16.34 mag galaxy found in the SDSS/2MASS/PS1 catalogues. Its located 0.11" S, 1.96" E (3.3 Kpc) from the galaxy centre. A host z=0.107 implies a m - M = 38.47.
