The transient was discovered on 17th March 2023 at 05:26:52 (MJD 60020.23) by ZTF as ZTF23aadgjcc with a discovery magnitude of g = 18.18. It was subsequently classified as a SN Ia at z = 0.053.

Prediction: Supernova
The transient is possibly associated with UGC06049; a J=12.51 mag galaxy found in the NED/SDSS/2MASS/PS1 catalogues. Its located 0.47" N, 2.75" E (2.9 Kpc) from the galaxy centre. A host z=0.053 implies a m - M = 36.87.
