The transient was discovered on 9th November 2022 at 14:36:56 (MJD 59892.61) by ATLAS as ATLAS22blmm with a discovery magnitude of orange = 14.55. It was subsequently classified as a SN Ia at z = 0.003.

Sherlock Contextual Classification

Prediction: Supernova

The transient is possibly associated with NGC3810; a J=8.84 mag galaxy found in the NED_D/SDSS/2MASS/PS1/LASR catalogues. Its located 5.22" S, 1.35" E (0.3 Kpc) from the galaxy centre. A host distance of 13.5 Mpc(z=0.003) implies a m - M = 30.65.
