The transient was discovered on 17th December 2018 at 02:13:51 (MJD 58469.09) by ZTF as ZTF18acxgoki with a discovery magnitude of r = 19.03. It was subsequently classified as a SN Ic-BL at z = 0.040.

Prediction: Supernova

The transient is possibly associated with KUG2320%2B207; a J=14.01 mag galaxy found in the NED/SDSS/2MASS/PS1 catalogues. It's located 0.24 arcsec N, 1.82 arcsec E from the galaxy centre.
