The transient was discovered on 16th December 2018 at 12:47:13 (MJD 58468.53) by ZTF as ZTF18acwyowc with a discovery magnitude of g = 19.69. It was subsequently classified as a SN Ia at z = 0.076.

Sherlock Contextual Classification

Prediction: Supernova

The transient is possibly associated with 2MASXJ13474811%2B3503279; a J=14.81 mag galaxy found in the NED/SDSS/2MASS/PS1 catalogues. It's located 3.72 arcsec N, 6.73 arcsec E (10.3 Kpc) from the galaxy centre. A host z=0.075 implies a m - M = 37.64.
