The transient was discovered on 6th December 2018 at 14:31:12 (MJD 58458.61) by ATLAS as ATLAS18bbhu with a discovery magnitude of cyan = 19.13. It was subsequently classified as a SN II at z = 0.037.

Sherlock Contextual Classification

Prediction: Nuclear Transient

The transient is synonymous with SDSSJ100133.98-012421.4; a 18.75 mag galaxy found in the NED catalogue. It's located 0.7 arcsec (0.5 Kpc) from the galaxy core. A host z=0.037 implies a m - M = 36.05.
