The transient was discovered on 4th December 2018 at 05:18:10 (MJD 58456.22) by ZTF as ZTF18acszaiy with a discovery magnitude of r = 19.51. It was subsequently classified as a SN II at z = 0.030.

Prediction: Supernova

The transient is possibly associated with LCSBS0395P; a J=13.97 mag galaxy found in the NED/SDSS/2MASS/PS1 catalogues. It's located 2.19 arcsec S, 1.57 arcsec W from the galaxy centre.
