The transient was discovered on 4th December 2018 at 04:23:46 (MJD 58456.18) by ZTF as ZTF18acsxwdi with a discovery magnitude of r = 18.90. It was subsequently classified as a SLSN-II at z = 0.119.

Prediction: Supernova

The transient is possibly associated with SDSS J010931.46+291954.3; an r=18.64 mag galaxy found in the SDSS/PS1 catalogues. It's located 1.69 arcsec S, 0.71 arcsec E from the galaxy centre.
