The transient was discovered on 20th November 2018 at 12:10:08 (MJD 58442.51) by ZTF as ZTF18acqsroy with a discovery magnitude of r = 19.07. It was subsequently classified as a SN II at z = 0.033.

Sherlock Contextual Classification

Prediction: Supernova

The transient is possibly associated with SDSSJ130851.91%2B092744.0; an r=18.29 mag galaxy found in the NED/SDSS/PS1 catalogues. It's located 1.47 arcsec N, 2.53 arcsec E (1.9 Kpc) from the galaxy centre. A host z=0.033 implies a m - M = 35.83.
