The transient was discovered on 10th November 2018 at 12:55:53 (MJD 58432.54) by ZTF as ZTF18achdzwk with a discovery magnitude of r = 19.47. It was subsequently classified as a SN Ic-BL at z = 0.032.

Sherlock Contextual Classification

Prediction: Supernova

The transient is possibly associated with IC0596; a J=12.07 mag galaxy found in the NED/SDSS/2MASS/PS1 catalogues. It's located 6.84 arcsec N, 5.75 arcsec E (5.6 Kpc) from the galaxy centre. A host z=0.032 implies a m - M = 35.72.
