The transient was discovered on 3rd September 2018 at 00:00:00 (MJD 58364.00) by ZTF as ZTF18abtcdfv with a discovery magnitude of g = 20.57. It was subsequently classified as a SN Ia at z = 0.140.

Sherlock Contextual Classification

Prediction: Supernova

The transient is possibly associated with SDSS J005006.37+395724.6; an r=23.03 mag galaxy found in the SDSS catalogue. It's located 0.19 arcsec N, 0.80 arcsec E from the galaxy centre.
