The transient was discovered on 9th June 2018 at 04:53:45 (MJD 58278.20) by ZTF as ZTF18aayxxew with a discovery magnitude of g = 20.19. It was subsequently classified as a SN II at z = 0.061.

Sherlock Contextual Classification

Prediction: Supernova

The transient is possibly associated with SDSS J130833.53+455910.1; an r=20.13 mag galaxy found in the SDSS/PS1 catalogues. It's located 0.23 arcsec N, 0.18 arcsec W from the galaxy centre.
