The transient was discovered on 3rd November 2018 at 12:40:19 (MJD 58425.53) by ZTF as ZTF18aatjlhe with a discovery magnitude of g = 18.85. It was subsequently classified as a SN II at z = 0.030.

Sherlock Contextual Classification

Prediction: Supernova

The transient is possibly associated with 2MASXJ13083072%2B5038311; a J=13.12 mag galaxy found in the NED/SDSS/2MASS/PS1 catalogues. It's located 2.04 arcsec S, 0.86 arcsec E (1.2 Kpc) from the galaxy centre. A host z=0.029 implies a m - M = 35.54.
